The 55-year-old country legend married his longtime fiancee, Mary Davis, last month while recovering from a stroke he had two years ago.

AceShowbiz - Randy Travis has quietly tied the knot with his longtime fiancee, Mary Davis, his rep has confirmed. The country legend married Davis in Denton, Texas, on March 21, while recovering from a serious health problem he had two years ago.

His health problem has kept him away from the public eye for a while until he was seen along with now wife at the 2015 Academy of Country Music Award on Sunday, April 19, during which he earned a standing ovation for his rare appearance.

After the awards show, Travis posted a letter for fans on his website expressing gratitude for all the support. "Words can never explain my gratitude to those who continue to believe in me, pray for me, and keep me lifted up in thought and deed. The kind cards and heartfelt letters of testimony and encouragement brought me through the darkest of days. Mary read each and every one of them to me and I felt the love and concern being sent my way; and, I gathered strength from this. None of us are worthy of the immense outpouring of support shown to me and I consider each of my fans, a friend. Thank you from the bottom of my heart," he wrote.

The 55-year-old singer suffered a stroke while being treated for a viral cardiomyopathy in July 2013, a complication that required surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. Davis was always there by his side to support him through the hard times.
