The Academy announced on Thursday, March 26 that Craig Zadan and Neil Meron would not return as Oscars producers for next year's show. Craig and Neil have been overseeing the annual Oscars for three years and helped the show hit a 10-year high in ratings last year, with Ellen DeGeneres serving as host.
The Academy's president Cheryl Boone Isaacs said in a statement, "Craig and Neil have been wonderful creative partners over the last three years, contributing some of the most innovative and memorable Oscar moments. They are true showmen with enormous talent and expertise - we're looking forward to seeing the exciting projects they have in the works."
Following the announcement, Craig and Neil took to Twitter to thank the Academy and their fans. Craig posted, "Honored we had 3 yr prod deal. 3 yrs stress & fun. Thrilled we were asked, happy to be moving on w/ lots of great friends. Thank you Acad. Thank you HawkKoch for asking us 3 yrs ago.
