AceShowbiz - Oprah Winfrey and Common are going to appear in next season of "Empire", Lee Daniels has confirmed. The Academy Award-winning director who co-created the hit freshman drama broke the news at a screening of the show in Los Angeles on Thursday, March 12.

"Yes. Yeah. She's gonna be on it," he told Access Hollywood about Winfrey, who has previously starred in his movie, "Lee Daniels' The Butler". When asked about a possible guest appearance by Common, he responded, "Oh yeah, for sure. For absolutely sure. We're gonna have a good time. You heard that first."

Asked how he's going to get Winfrey to show up, Daniels jokingly told E! News, "I'm going to punch her in the stomach, grab her by her hair." As for the character she's going to play, co-creator Danny Strong said they're still figuring it out.

Executive producer Brian Grazer additionally shared his hope to get Denzel Washington as guest star on the show. "I made two movies with Denzel and Lee of course knows him well and again, we just hope that he does it," he said, claiming that the actor's "been a fan of the show from the very beginning, actually before the beginning."

Daniels teased there would be more famous faces making appearance on the show in season 2. "Next season we're going to surprise you even more with some of the guest stars," he said. "It's great because now we want to know that people want to watch us and that's a great place to be. My friends now feel great coming on the show, so it's really exciting."

"Empire" two-hour season finale airs Wednesday, March 18 at 8 P.M. on FOX.
