The in-development biopic of the late actor-comedian Richard Pryor might add Eddie Murphy to its cast. The actor has been in talks to portray Pryor's father LeRoy Pryor aka "Buck Carter", a former boxer.

The film's director Lee Daniels allegedly confirmed Murphy's involvement in the upcoming feature by posting a photo of him and the film star on his Instagram account. "Strap in and brace yourself. They done let me and him out of our cages! #idonteventhinkimreadyforthisone! #excited #proud #OMG," so read the caption that accompanied the pic.

ET Online, which was first to report Murphy's casting for the forthcoming biopic, mentioned that Kate Hudson is on board playing Pryor's wife, Jennifer Pryor, who serves a producer on the film. In addition to the two stars, fellow actor Mike Epps has previously been confirmed to be cast as Pryor and Oprah Winfrey will get into the shoes of his grandmother, Marie Carter.

Plan to produce Richard Pryor's biopic was first announced back in January 2014. Prior to that, there had been talks to develop the biopic with Bill Condon to direct and Murphy to star. However, the project never came to fruition.
