First Trailer for Adaptation of Gillian Flynn's 'Dark Places' Arrives

AceShowbiz - The first trailer for upcoming drama thriller "Dark Places" has surfaced. It shows lead star Charlize Theron being haunted by the massacre of her family which happened during her childhood.

"Dark Places" is an adaptation of "Gone Girl" author Gillian Flynn's best-selling novel. It tells the story of "Libby Day (Theron), who at the age of 7 survived the massacre of her family. She identified her brother as the murderer, and testified to his guilt in court." However, "twenty-five years later, she remains haunted by the killings, but she sees a way to profit from it when a strange group of sleuths, dubbed the Kill Club, contacts her and begins to probe her past."

In addition to Theron, "Dark Places" stars the likes of Nicholas Hoult, Chloe Moretz, Christina Hendricks, and Drea de Matteo. No release date has been set for the movie, directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner who also serves as the screenwriter.
