Jeremy Jordan Cast as Toyman on CBS' 'Supergirl' Pilot

The Broadway star lands a role as tech genius Winslow 'Winn' Schott in the superheroine show led by former 'Glee' actress Melissa Benoist.

AceShowbiz - Jeremy Jordan joins the growing list of cast on CBS' superheroine pilot "Supergirl". The Wrap learns that the Broadway actor known for his role as Clyde Barrow in the 2011 musical "Bonnie & Clyde" is expected to take on the role of Winslow "Winn" Schott.

The character is described as a tech genius and superstar IT whiz who works alongside Melissa Benoist's Kara at Cat Grant's company, CatCo. He is better known for his Toyman alias in the DC Comics books and has appeared in the Superman graphic novels.

Jordan will guest star in the pilot with the possibility to recur if the series is picked up. He and Benoist are joined by Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Mehcad Brooks as Kara's love interest Jimmy Olsen, Laura Benanti as her birth mother Alura Zor-El, Chyler Leigh as Kara's foster sister Alex Danvers, and David Harewood as villainous Hank Henshaw.

"Supergirl" tells the story of Superman's cousin Kara Zor-El, who also lands on Earth after escaping Krypton. She's been hiding the powers she shares with Superman, but later decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.

Former "Glee" actress Benoist recently posted on Twitter a behind-the-scenes picture that saw her posing with Helen Slater who is cast in an undisclosed role. Slater previously portrayed Kara in the 1984 film. The CBS project will reunite her with Dean Cain.

Slater and Cain previously starred together on "Smallville". Slater portrayed Clark's Krypton mother Lara while Cain famous for playing Man of Steel on 1990s series "Lois & Clark" played the immortal Dr. Curtis Knox on the renewed Superman series.
