Charli XCX Re-Records 'Boom Clap' and 'Break the Rules' in Japanese

The British singer worked on the Japanese lyrics for 'Boom Clap' with J-Pop star Yasuda Rei and 'Break the Rules' with Japanese singer Hiromi.

AceShowbiz - Charli XCX is giving her Japanese fans a special treatment. The British beauty has re-recorded two of her new singles to be featured in the Japanese edition of her sophomore album "Sucker" that arrives in the country on February 18.

Warner Music Japan has teased the new versions of Charli's "Boom Clap" and "Break the Rules" with lengthy snippets posted on its YouTube channel. The previews, each running for 1 minute and 45 seconds, finds her singing the songs mostly in Japanese. The clips also come along with the new lyrics written in kanji.

"Boom Clap", which is also featured on the soundtrack of "The Fault in Our Stars", peaked at No. 8 on Billboard Hot 100, giving Charli her highest-charting single as a solo artist. For its Japanese lyrics, she worked with J-Pop star Yasuda Rei. As for "Break the Rules", the 22-year-old singer did the lyrics with singer Hiromi.

"Sucker" has been available in the U.S. since early December 2014. It's scheduled to hit the stores in European countries on February 16. For the latter edition, Charli has added a new version of "Doing It" featuring Rita Ora.
