The director and the actor who most recently worked together for Civil Rights movie 'Selma' are now collaborating for the new project for Participant Media.

AceShowbiz - "Selma" director Ava DuVernay and its lead actor David Oyelowo are reuniting for an untitled Hurricane Katrina project. Participant Media announced on Monday, January 26 that both would serve as producers in a Hurricane Catrina-set love story and murder mystery film. Additionally, DuVernay will write and direct the pic while Oyelowo is set to star.

"Hurricane Katrina is one of the most important social and environmental stories of our time," said Participant Media's Jonathan King. "Ava DuVernay has shown herself to be highly skilled at bringing intimacy and contemporary urgency to epic events. We have been looking for the right way to get back in business with Ava, and with David Oyelowo, and are proud to re-team with them on her original idea, which we believe will be a powerful film."

DuVernay also expressed her excitement about the new gig. "The story we're interested in will explore the complexities of intimate relationships within times of chaos, while also examining the chaos itself. I'm looking forward to the journey," she said. There is no immediate info regarding the new movie's plot or release date.

This will be third collaboration between DuVernay and Oyelowo. Apart from "Selma", they previously worked together in "Middle of Nowhere".
