Luke Evans Officially Exits 'The Crow' Reboot
Movie

The 'Dracula Untold' star's publicist confirms the actor's departure from the long-gestating project, saying that Evans is pursuing other projects.

AceShowbiz - Luke Evans is no longer a part of "The Crow" remake. Over the weekend, Evans' publicist confirmed to TheWrap that the "Dracula Untold" star decided to go separate ways to pursue other projects. Relativity Media declined to respond to requests for comments regarding the departure.

Based on James O'Barr's 1989 comic book of the same name, the long-gestating film centers on Eric Draven, a murdered rock star who is brought to life by supernatural bird crow to avenge his murder and that of his fiancee. The original movie was released in 1994 with Brandon Lee as the lead star.

Tom Hiddleston previously was linked to the character Eric in the reboot before Evans landed the role. In late December, the actor who plays Bard the Bowman in "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" hinted at his departure in an interview, saying, "I'm sure it's going to go ahead at some point, but I have other projects that are greenlit and ready to go and projects that I'm very interested in and you know, I can't wait much longer! [laughs]"

Directed by Corin Hardy, the movie so far has no release date.
