The 'Neon Light' hitmaker calls the Maroon 5 frontman 'a punk' and 'pretty boy,' and auditions to be on Cecily Strong's team.

AceShowbiz - Blake Shelton is preparing for his "Saturday Night Live" gig by appearing in a promo video for the January 24 episode of the show. Showing his funny side, the country music crooner pokes fun at his light-hearted rivalry with Adam Levine on "The Voice".

When asked by "SNL" regular Cecily Strong if his rivalry with Levine is real, he replies, "It's real. It's so real, in fact, that guy's such a punk. I actually have a message for you right now, Adam." He adds in a taunting manner, "Hey Adam. Look who's hosting 'SNL' now, pretty boy!"

In another sketch, Shelton spoofs "The Voice". He tries to convince Strong to pick him. "You did it!" she exclaims after he showed his funny voice. The "Sure Be Cool If You Did" singer then says, "OMG, and I have such a heartwarming story, too! And a lot of tragedy and perseverance!"

The video ends with a weird notice saying after a "lame joke," the duo "had dual heart attacks and died."

"SNL" airs Saturdays at 11:30/10:30c on NBC. Shelton is pulling a double duty, serving as the host and musical guest for this week's episode.
