The video of West reading the poem titled 'His Name Means Love' was taken when he was still a student at John H. Vanderpoel Elementary, a performing arts school in Chicago.

AceShowbiz - Before he was one of the biggest rappers in the world, Kanye West was already good at writing rhymes. His wife Kim Kardashian proved it when she took to Twitter on Tuesday, January 20 to post a video originally taken when her rapper hubby was still a student at John H. Vanderpoel Elementary, a performing arts school in Chicago.

"I wish I posted this yesterday! How cute is my baby!!!!!!! #MLK," the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star captioned the grainy clip that shows then-12-year-old West reciting an inspirational poem he wrote about Martin Luther King Jr. in front of his teachers and peers during an assembly.

The future superstar, standing on the podium, introduced himself before passionately reading every line of his poem titled "His Name Means Love".

"A man who fought for freedom/ A man who fought for equality," he began. "Those who were against him/ Were too blind to see/ What this man was fighting for/ So Blacks, Hispanics, Jews and Asians could put their foot in the door."

He added, "Yes, we know that this man is great/ That's why today we celebrate and everyone lifts their voice and sing/ For a man who wanted freedom to ring/ Martin Luther King is who I'm speaking of/ A man whose name means love."
