Director D.J. Caruso Circling 'G.I. Joe 3'

According to a new report, the 'Disturbia' director is in negotiations to direct the upcoming action movie.

AceShowbiz - "G.I. Joe 3" apparently has eyed a certain director for the upcoming movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, director D.J. Caruso ("Eagle Eye", "Disturbia") is in early talks to take a position behind the camera in the third installment of "G.I. Joe" movie franchise. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson reportedly is also up to reprise his role as Roadblock.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura serves as producer in "G.I. Joe 3". The script which reportedly will heavily feature Johnson's character is written by Jonathan Lemkin.

The first film "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" was released in 2009 and raked in over $300M worldwide. Starring Channing Tatum, Sienna Miller, Dennis Quaid and Joseph Gordon-Levitt among others, it was directed by Stephen Sommers.

The second installment, "G.I. Joe: Retaliation", was directed by Jon M. Chu and featured Tatum, Johnson and Bruce Willis among the cast members. It was equally successful, collecting $375.7 million worldwide. Chu was previously attached to direct the third film, but he bowed out to work on "Jem and the Holograms".
