The Compton rapper responds to criticism surrounding the 'Fancy' hitmaker, saying that critics should let her do her thing.

Kendrick Lamar is totally on team Iggy Azalea. Amid mounting criticism about the "Fancy" hitmaker's music and race, the Compton spitter defended her during an interview with Billboard magazine for its latest cover story.

"She's doing her thing. Let her," K. Dot told the magazine, responding to all the nasty things critics have said about the Australian native. "People have to go through trials and tribulations to get where they at. Do your thing, continue to rock it, because obviously God wants you here."

Despite the criticism about her music, Azalea has unarguably become one of the biggest rap acts in the game. She has defeated big names like Drake and Nicki Minaj to win a number of rap awards at several prestigious events. Currently, she is nominated in four categories at the Grammys including Best Rap Album for her "The New Classic".

Some people have predicted that Azalea may repeat the controversy sparked last year by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis when their "The Heist" won the same award over Lamar's "good kid, m.A.A.d City". He, however, will have no problem with Azalea if her album really does win the title.

"I appreciate [the Grammys] recognizing me," Lamar said. "That's not my overall goal... It's best to just go and enjoy the festivities." He went on to rave about Macklemore, who sent him an apology text following the Grammys. He called the "Thrift Shop" hitmaker "a genuine dude" and wished him "much success."
