The plan to do a crossover between 'Jump Street' and 'MIB' is revealed in the latest email leak as a part of Sony hacking scandal.

AceShowbiz - Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill may deal with aliens in the upcoming "23 Jump Street". In the latest email leak as a result of Sony hacking scandal, it's revealed that the studio has been discussing the idea of doing a crossover between "Jump Street" and "Men in Black".

In an email to Sony's co-chairman Amy Pascal, Hill sounds very confident about the crossover. The "Moneyball" actor said as quoted by The Wall Street Journal, "jump street merging with mib i think that's clean and rad and powerful."

The project is still in early development, and no script has been penned. Hannah Minghella, a president of production for Sony's Columbia Pictures which owns the rights to "MIB" said they would "be greenlighting the movie off the concept and the talent involved."

The studio is eying a 2016 or 2017 release. There is no word if Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will make appearances. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed "21 Jump Street" and "22 Jump Street", are producing the picture and may direct it.

Steven Spielberg who served as an executive producer for the previous "Men in Black" films have been approached as well. "We didn't do as well as we had hoped for on the last MIB film," a Sony executive wrote to Spielberg's camp, "but that hasn't caused us to lose faith in the franchise. In reality, the exact opposite has occurred where we all have an opportunity to take an interim step on the way to hopefully forging ahead again in the pure-play MIB universe."
