'Rocky Horror' Sequel Set for Stage Adaptation
Movie

The script of 'Shock Treatment' that focused on Brad and Janet is being reworked by Richard O'Brien for its stage debut in London theater.

AceShowbiz - Richard O'Brien announces he is working on a new stage production based on the beloved characters from his classic horror comedy "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". He is adapting "Shock Treatment", the movie's sequel that focused on Brad and Janet, for a musical which will play at London's King's Head Theatre in April.

"Shock Treatment has been waiting patiently in the wings for a stage premiere since the film was released in 1981," he told BBC News. "Just as Rocky began life upstairs at the Royal Court, it seems a perfect fit for Shock Treatment to start its stage life in the effervescent atmosphere of the astounding King's Head Theatre."

"Rocky Horror" was originally a stage production before it got a movie treatment in 1975. The sequel was filmed in 1981, but never gained full theatrical release due to lukewarm response. Susan Sarandon played Janet and Barry Bostwick portrayed Brad in the original movie, but they didn't return for the second one.
