Hugo Weaving seemingly will not appear in "Captain America: Civil War". The actor, who previously played baddie Johann Schmidt a.k.a. Red Skull in "Captain America: The First Avenger", once said that he had signed multi-picture deal with Marvel. However, it seems to be unlikely that he will return to the third movie in "Captain America" franchise.

Weaving who did not appear in the second installment, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", talked about the role in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter as he promoted his new drama "The Mule". "I have absolutely no idea," he shared. "I haven't talked to anyone about it, so yeah, we'll just have to wait and see. No idea at all."

"Captain America: Civil War" may be based on the story line of Civil Wars which pits Chris Evans' Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America against Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man. "Inglourious Basterds" star Daniel Bruhl already signed in for a reported villain role.

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo will return to their positions behind the lens. Production reportedly will start in early 2015 for a May 6, 2016 release.
