AceShowbiz - A smoky ad for throat drops starring Waka Flocka Flame appeared during the 2014 American Music Awards on Sunday, November 23. The bizarre 30-second spot for Pine Bros, which sees the rapper talking in what appears to be a waiting room, was aired during the commercial break after One Direction took home a trophy for Favorite Album, Pop/Rock.
The video starts with the camera focusing on Flame who is sitting on a sofa. "What does a Waka Flocka Flame do for minor sore throat relief? This here," he says as soft piano sound plays in the background. He then shares information about the products' ingredients before making reference to weed's smoke with his facial expression.
Numerous stars such as Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, One Direction, Sam Smith, Imagine Dragons and 5 Seconds of Summer took part at the AMAs which aired live from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles. The "Best Song Ever" hitmaker dominated the winner list as they won three awards for Artist of the Year, Favorite Band/Duo/Group in Pop/Rock in addition to the Favorite Album in Pop/Rock for "Midnight Memories".
Flame, however, was not present at the awards show. Prior to the release of the ad, he appeared in a "Funny or Die" sketch which sees him reading resumes for prospective blunt rollers.
