Channing Tatum is officially the busiest man in Hollywood. The "Foxcatcher" star is stepping behind the camera for a Young Adult novel adaptation "Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock".
The book comes from Matthew Quick, the same author who wrote "Silver Linings Playbook". It follows a troubled high schooler named Leonard Peacock who sets out on his birthday with a gun in his backpack, planning to kill his best friend and commit suicide.
This would be Tatum's directorial debut but he won't be alone in the position. The actor will be co-directing and producing with his partner Reid Carolin. THR reported that Tatum could also star in the film as a heroic teacher who intervenes.
The project is yet to gain a scribe. "The Spectacular Now" director James Ponsoldt was once on the trail to adapt the novel into feature film but the plan apparently stopped in track. Tatum is also attached to star and co-direct an adaptation of crime thriller "The Son", but "Peacock" could go ahead first.
