Pride and Prejudice
The glorious world of Jane Austen is at last brought back to the big screen in all its romance, wit and emotional force ...
In the lawless frontier of 1890s Mexico, two women from vastly different worlds are forged into an unlikely duo of legendary outlaws. Salma Hayek stars as Sara, a sophisticated banker's daughter from the city, who joins forces with Penelope Cruz as Maria, a fiery-tempered rancher's daughter from the countryside. Their shared enemy is a ruthless American tycoon, played by Dwight Yoakam, whose land-grabbing schemes destroy both of their families' livelihoods. With nothing left to lose but their pride, the mismatched pair decide to fight back the only way they can—by becoming bank robbers. Under the exasperated tutelage of a quirky American criminologist, portrayed by Steve Zahn, they trade their skirts for six-shooters, embarking on a daring and often hilariously chaotic campaign of vengeance. This rollicking adventure comedy, produced by Luc Besson, blends high-spirited action with sharp wit as the so-called "Bandidas" evolve from bumbling amateurs into the most wanted—and most celebrated—heroines the Wild West has ever seen.
