Disney is reviving its "White Fang" franchise, The Hollywood Reporter learns. For the new installment, the studio has hired Jose Rivera to write the screenplay and Lance Acord to serve behind the lens. It will make the directorial debut for the latter.

Rivera is an Oscar nominee who penned the 2004 movie "The Motorcycle Diaries". Acord is an award-winning cinematographer who is known for working with Spike Jonze on films such as "Being John Malkovich", "Adaptation", and "Where the Wild Things Are".
