NBC Universal and One Direction are teaming up this upcoming holiday for a special. "One Direction: The TV Special" will air on NBC on December 23 at 8 P.M. ET, marking the band's first TV special in the U.S.

The partnership actually started back on September 8 when "Today" gave the exclusive announcement about the group's album release date. It extends to a competition to win VIP tickets to see the boyband perform at Universal Studios Florida on November 17 and 18. The theme park will be given temporary One Direction theme over the course of several days.

Those who attend Universal Orlando Resort over those two days can ride "a specially-themed 'Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit' roller coaster featuring music from 1D," and see "a special 1D version of the 'Universal Cinematic Spectacular' nighttime show." There will also be One Direction social media activities at the park's Fan Zone.

Those who stay at Universal Orlando's Cabana Bay Beach Resort can attend an exclusive album listening pool party on November 16, before the album is even released. They may also sign up for the "unique opportunity to sign up for specially recorded wake-up calls from the members of One Direction."

The band's new album "Four" will hit the shelves on November 17. NBC Universal's entertainment news platforms such as E! News and Access Hollywood will cover the band's album launch.
