Hard rock community is mourning the loss of Wayne Static, whose real name is Wayne Richard Wells. The former singer of metal band Static-X passed away Saturday, November 1. The Platinum-selling rocker was 48 years old.
Details regarding Wayne's death are not available. Rock musicians like Korn frontman Jonathan Davis, System of Down star Shavo Odadjian, and Jane's Addiction member Dave Navarro sent their prayers and condolences.
"Rest in peace, Wayne. I'm speechless right now. I'm losing too many of my friends. I'll see you on the other side, brother," Davis tweeted.
Wayne formed Static-X in 1994 and released debut album "Wisconsin Death Trip" in 1999. It quickly went platinum and was followed by five more records. Their last album "Cult of Static" was released in 2009 before he embarked on a solo career.
The vocalist/guitarist was supposed to co-headline tours with Powerman 5000 and Drowning Pool over the next several months.
