A California judge has reportedly given Amanda's parents a conservatorship after they told the judge that their daughter spent 'alarming amounts' of money by buying jewelry for strangers.

Amanda Bynes' parents obtained a conservatorship of her after her psychiatric hold was extended for one more month, TMZ reported. Amanda's mother, Lynn Bynes, obtained the conservatorship after telling a California judge that their daughter bought jewelry for strangers.
In legal documents obtained by the site, Lynn cited her daughter's bizarre behavior including her recent DUI arrest, her shoplifting incident and other violent conduct in New York City. Lynn said Amanda was a "substantial risk" to herself and others. She listed Amanda's net worth at $5,747,703, with $2.8 million of it is real property. Amanda's only income last year was $144,768 from her rental property.
According to PEOPLE, Lynn stated Amanda had been "spending large amounts of her savings" and "recently made extensive purchases as gifts from jewelry stores, such as Cartier, for strangers." She also cited Amanda's repeated allegations that doctors implanted a microchip inside her brain.
On Monday, October 27, a judge extended Amanda's involuntary commitment at a Pasadena psychiatric facility for one more month. She was placed at 5150 psychiatric hold on October 10 after accusing her father of sexual abuse.
