Many fans were left disappointed when it's revealed that Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter V" was pushed back. On what would have been the album's release day, Tuesday, October 27, the rapper posted a video in which he apologizes for the delay and explains why he made the decision.
In the three-minute YouTube clip, Weezy says he's been working really hard on the album and he recorded too many songs for it. He wants to give fans all the songs he's done, so he's releasing the LP in two parts with the first part arriving on December 9. There's no word on when the second part will come.
Tunechi also apologized for the delay by releasing a new "C5" single called "Gotti" featuring The Lox (Jadakiss and Styles P). He gets nostalgic on it as he raps, "B***h I come from a 3rd world / Start rappin' in the 4th grade / Start trappin' in the 6th grade / Went platinum in the 10th grade."
