AceShowbiz - Jason Bateman is going to follow up his directorial debut in "Bad Words" with "IPO Man". It's a movie based on a Wired magazine article about a "Man Who Sold His Fate to Investors at $1 a Share".
Micah Fitzerman-Blue & Noah Harpster write the screenplay for Fox Searchlight. According to Deadline, the "Horrible Bosses" actor is tapped to portray the lead character in addition to serving behind the lens.
The story revolves around a real-life man named Mike Merrill who gave himself for a public offering. He did it out of curiosity but soon found himself in a complicated situation when shareholders demanded control over his personal life decisions like whether he should have a vasectomy or whether he should move in with his longtime girlfriend.
