The 'Big Bang Theory' actor will lead 'Elf: Buddy's Musical Christmas' cast that includes Fred Armisen, Jay Leno, and Matt Lauer.

Jim Parsons is celebrating holiday with "Elf: Buddy's Musical Christmas". "The Big Bang Theory" star is booked to voice the lead role Buddy in the NBC one-hour animated special. It will help kick off holiday on Tuesday, December 16 at 8 P.M.
Parsons is joined in the voice cast ensemble by the likes of Mark Hamill, Ed Asner, Fred Armisen, Jay Leno, Matt Lauer, Gilbert Gottfried, Kate Micucci, Rachael MacFarlane, Max Charles, and Steve Higgins.
The holiday special is based on Will Ferrell's 2003 movie "Elf", which collected $220 million worldwide and spawned a Broadway show "Elf: The Musical" which ran from 2011 to 2013. It will feature songs like "Happy All the Time", "A Christmas Song", and "Nobody Cares About Santa Claus".
The new take will retell Buddy's heartwarming adventure. Santa narrates the story of Buddy's travels to New York City to meet the father he never knew he had. Along the way his unrelenting cheer transforms the lives of everyone he meets and opens his father's eyes to the magic of Christmas.
