We're sure you understand." KOIT, meanwhile, wrote on Twitter, "#Lorde #Royals will be removed from the @965KOIT playlist until the end of the World Series #GoGiants..."

The 2014 World series starts on Tuesday, October 21 and will last about a week. Responding to the radio stations' ban, Kansas City radio station 99.7 The Point has said they'll play "Royals" once every hour from 07:00 A.M. to 07:00 P.M. the day of the opener.

"Royals" is a track from Lorde's debut album "Pure Heroine" that she put out last year. The New Zealand native said that she penned the song after seeing a picture of Kansas City's George Brett in a National Geographic magazine.
