Indian film production bosses are reportedly trying to have Zayn Malik record a song for an upcoming Bollywood movie. According to the Mirror, the member of One Direction has been offered about half a million dollars for it.

"One Direction has a huge following among the youth, especially in major cities. Zayn Malik is very well-known in that circle and holds tremendous promise if given the right break in a Bollywood film" a Bollywood producer told the site.

"Bollywood has always welcomed actors from the U.K., like Katrina Kaif and Amy Jackson. Zayn appeals to an even younger audience, which is the driving force of Bollywood movies today," the producer added.

The Mirror also reported that Zayn could be heading to the big screen. A movie insider told the site that the British boy was wanted by a big production company to sing and act in one of their films.

"One very big production company is putting together an offer for him to act as well as sing," the insider revealed. "He has turned down one song so far but if the right one comes along it could be great for him."

Zayn isn't the first musician wanted for an Indian movie. Snoop Dogg and Kylie Minogue are other stars who have used their voices for Bollywood productions in recent years.
