'Avengers 3' May Be Split Into Two Movies
Movie

Rumor has it, the 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' sequel is planned for May 2018 and another movie will follow a year later.

AceShowbiz - While "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will not arrive until May 1, 2015, rumor regarding what to expect from "The Avengers 3" starts brewing. The third movie will reportedly be split into two parts, just like "Harry Potter", "Twilight", "The Hunger Games", and "Divergent" did with their saga.

According to a scoop from The Daily Marvelite, Marvel plans on having the Earth's Mightiest Heroes begin a big battle in "Avengers 3" and conclude it in another movie a year later. On top of that, the Avengers are expected to cross paths with the Guardians of the Galaxy in the last installment.

Marvel did lock May 3, 2019 for an untitled movie. It was initially believed to be set for "Avengers 3" before the studio later booked a May 3, 2018 release. The Daily Marvelite now claims the May 2018 date is for the third installment and the May 2019 date is for the concluding fourth entry.

Although the possible "Guardians"/"Avengers" crossover hasn't been confirmed, Vin Diesel who voices Groot once teased Marvel's plan on "merging of brands." There was even a rumor suggesting that Dave Bautista's Drax the Destoryer would have a significant role in "Avengers 3".

Director James Gunn also said, "We talked about all sorts of possibilities [for a crossover] and I kind of know what the basic plan is. That could or could not include a couple of Avengers and a couple of Guardians meeting up, or all of the Avengers and all of the Guardians. But, we do inhabit the same universe and they're pretty big personalities that are likely to, at some point or another, run into each other."

In "Age of Ultron", Robert Downey Jr. will return as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye. Aaron Johnson join the cast as Quicksilver and Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch.
