Carrie Underwood opened up about her pregnancy during her appearance on "Today" on Friday, September 26. Carrie said, "It's still kinda weird, to be honest. Sometimes I'll be with my husband, and it's like, 'I'm gonna be a mom. You're gonna be a dad. Is this real life?' "
Carrie, who announced her pregnancy on September 1, then added, "But we're really excited." When asked what kind of mother she wanted to be for her child, Mike Fisher's wife replied, "I have a wonderful mother. If I can be even a little bit like that, I think we'll be good."
The "Cowboy Casanova" singer also shared big news that she would release a new single titled "Something in the Water" on Monday, September 29. The single will be part of her upcoming album "Greatest Hits: Decade #1", which is due out on December 9.
She said of her new single, "It's really kind of a joyous, uplifting song about changing your life for the better and kind of having that 'a-ha' moment, to waking up and your life being different from that moment forward."
Carrie will join Jay-Z, The Roots, Sting and No Doubt to perform at the Global Citizen Festival at Central Park in New York City on Saturday, September 27. The show is held by the Global Poverty Project as an effort to end poverty by 2030.
