Movie

Previously saying his character Will Turner had reached his end at the movie franchise, Bloom apparently had a change of mind.

Orlando Bloom is open to return to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise. The actor revealed during an appearance at Oz Comic Con over the weekend that he might join Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales".

Bloom starred as Will Turner in the first three installments of the Disney franchise, but he was excluded from 2011's "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides". He quit the franchise in favor of other films. "I had a great time making those movies," he said at that time. "I just really wanted to do different things, but I think it's going to be great. Whatever Johnny does, I think it's fantastic."

The British actor apparently has changed his mind. "There have certainly been some discussions about it and I'm open to it," Bloom told audience at the Comic Con. "That whole experience working with Johnny and [director] Gore [Verbinski] was really amazing for me."

He was particularly intrigued to work with Depp again. "I had a great time working with Johnny, one of the reasons I jumped at the opportunity [to be in the first 'Pirates'] was because Johnny was involved," he said. "I was such a massive fan of Johnny Depp growing up so to get up close and personal to Johnny and see how he worked as an actor was just a massive gift."

The fifth movie could be shot in Australia as the government agreed to give Disney $20.2 million tax incentives. After several delays, the production is scheduled to start early next year for July 7, 2017 release. Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg are directing from the script by Jeff Nathanson.
