The split news came just weeks after Mos' latest album arrived and just days after he appeared to be dissing the record label in a statement posted on fansite True to You.

AceShowbiz - Capitol/Harvest Record has reportedly split with one of its artists Morrissey. According to fansite True to You, the singer is now "in search of a record label" after Harvest decided to end their relationship with him "as directed by label boss Steve Barnett."

The news came just weeks after Mos released his newest album, "World Peace Is None of Your Business", which reached No. 2 on U.K.'s album chart and No. 14 on Billboard 200. There's still no official confirmation from the star or his label.

As noted by Pitchfork, he's still listed as a Harvest artist on their website. However, Morrissey has hinted that he indeed has a troubled relationship with the label. He recently appeared to criticize the record company in a statement to True to You.

In the statement, the former frontman of The Smiths praised three fans who made and shared their own videos for his latest LP's title track. "These videos fully understand the intent of the song, and I am relieved that these films exist," he said before taking a jab at his label, adding, "A similar document ought to have been harvested by the record label, but please understand that the pop or rock industry can be as dedicated to perpetuating public deception as the world of politics itself."
