For the first time in a decade, NBC comes out as the top network in key ratings demo. The Peacock averaged a 2.7 rating among adults 18-49 during 2013-2014 primetime TV season, up 13|percent| from last year.

It's the biggest season-to-season demo gain for the network in the 26-year history of Nielsen's People Meter sample, and the biggest for any Big 4 network in nine years. Though benefiting from the Sochi Winter Olympics coverage, NBC still performed well when all other sports programming is excluded.

NBC enjoys the ratings surge particularly from its Tuesday and Wednesday line-ups, which were up 15|percent| from last year. Monday was up 10|percent|, boosted by the season's No. 1 new drama "The Blacklist".

In terms of total viewers, NBC finishes second with an average of 9.3 million (up 33|percent|). CBS is still No. 1, claiming the title of the most-watched network for a sixth consecutive year, with an average of 10.7 million audience.

The Eye slips from No. 1 to No. 3 in key ratings demo with a 2.4 rating, while FOX comes second with a 2.5 rating (7.4 million total viewers, up 4|percent|). ABC places fourth in the demo with a 2.1 rating, but bests FOX in total viewers with 7.6 million (down 3|percent|).
