AceShowbiz - A new trailer for Disney's "Maleficent" has been released during the live telecast of the 56th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. It contains some new footage including Angelina Jolie's witch character summoning tree- and grass-like monsters to face off the king's soldiers.
In addition to offering new footage, the trailer features a haunting soundtrack recorded by Lana Del Rey. Rumor has it, the "Summertime Sadness" hitmaker was handpicked by Jolie to sing "Once Upon a Time" from the 1959 original "Sleeping Beauty" film.
The film explores the origins story of the Disney iconic villain from a beautiful, pure-hearted young woman who turns into a cold-stoned sorceress due to a ruthless betrayal. Hell bent on revenge, she places a curse upon the king's newborn daughter.
Helmed by first-timed director Robert Stromberg, the dark fantasy film is slated to hit theaters nationwide on May 30. Elle Fanning stars as Princess Aurora and Brenton Thwaites as her Prince. Other cast members include Sharlto Copley, Juno Temple and Peter Capaldi.
