"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" released new footage on New Year's Eve at Times Square, New York City as the ball dropped. It shows Electro taking advantage of the electricity at the public place and wreaking havoc before the friendly neighborhood hero comes to the rescue. A glimpse at The Rhino is also shown.
The sequel is due in the United States on May 2, 2014. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are back as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy respectively. Jamie Foxx stars as Electro, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn, and Paul Giamatti as The Rhino.
Felicity Jones is signed on for an unspecified role. "It's all quite shrouded in secrecy," she once said, "but I'm the Goblin's girlfriend - I'm in a relationship with him, and his accomplice. I'm on the dark side."
Peter continues to struggle with balancing his life as a high school student and his responsibilities as Spider-Man. When he begins to investigate more about his father's past, thanks to the help of his friend Harry, he begins to realize that the new threats of Electro and the Rhino all have one thing in common: OsCorp.
