Report: Denzel Washington Eyed to Play Green Lantern in 'Man of Steel 2'
Movie

Rumor has it, the '2 Guns' actor is considered to take on the role of John Stewart in the Superman vs. Batman movie.

AceShowbiz - Denzel Washington could join the heroes in "Man of Steel 2" if Nuke The Fridge could be trusted. The actor is rumored being considered to play Green Lantern portrayed by his "Safe House" co-star Ryan Reynolds in a previous film.

Reynolds played test pilot Hal Jordan, the first human to join the Green Lantern Corps, in 2011's "Green Lantern" which was panned by critics. But Washington is reported to take on the role of a more recent recruit, former marine John Stewart.

In previous rumor, the "2 Guns" star was linked to play villainous Lex Luthor before "Her" actor Joaquin Phoenix later emerged as a hotly tipped contender for the role.

The "Man of Steel" sequel is due July 17, 2015. Zack Snyder is back as a director, Henry Cavill returns as Superman, and Amy Adams reprises her role as Lois Lane. Ben Affleck is added as Batman, and Gal Gadot is tapped as Wonder Woman.

"It's the physical preparations that I'm starting now," Gadot recently said of her preparation to play the heroine. "A very serious training regime - Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, jujutsu, Brazilian...1,000 and 1 things...I'll gain body mass."
