Fat Joe is heading behind bars. The Bronx-born rap mogul surrendered Monday, August 26 at the Federal Detention Center in Miami to serve his jail sentence. He was slapped with four months in prison after pleading guilty to evading taxes.

"FARE WELL MY PEOPLE IM BOUT TO TAKE THAT RIDE SEE U AT DIDDYS HOUSE FOR NEW YEARS#GODWILLINGINSHALLAH," the Terror Squad MC tweeted before turning himself in. He also released his album "The Darkside Vol. 3" for free.

The rapper got jail time after pleading guilty in December to two counts of failing to file tax returns on more than $1 million in income in the years of 2007 and 2008. He was also ordered to pay a $15,000 fine and sentenced to one year of supervised release.

Joe was originally accused of evading taxes on nearly $3 million of income between the years of 2007 and 2010, totaling a tax loss of $718,038. But under a plea agreement with the prosecutors, he got the charges reduced to evading taxes for two years only.
