Cory Monteith's mother breaks silence three weeks after his shocking death. Ann McGregor tweeted, "I would like to thank all of Cory's supporters at this extremely emotional time. Your support has been overwhelming ... thank you!"

She also clears up a number of reports that cited so-called family insiders. She wrote, "The person releasing articles relating to my feelings and thoughts on how to take care of Cory's ashes has never been in contact with me."

The mother added, "I have never met or spoken to this person. He does not represent me or my wishes."

Cory Monteith, 31, was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room by staffer who checked on him when he missed his checkout time. He died from toxic combination of heroin and alcohol. His body was cremated in Vancouver on July 17, following a private viewing by his immediate family and girlfriend, Lea Michele.

A private memorial held on the Paramount studio lot was attended by "Glee" castmates and executive producer Ryan Murphy. They donned black ribbons as they remembered the late actor. A short memorial card showing his memorable "Glee" moments was aired ahead of a special episode that will pay tribute to him.

Co-star Darren Criss recently said on Conan O'Brien's show, "He was a joy." He added, "Obviously it's been a very rough time. When you start picking up the pieces after something as tragic as this, and it's funny that you say that, you don't know how to breach it, we're picking up the pieces now and there's two things you gotta remember."

"One, is he was a really funny guy, had a great sense of humor and he loved life. He always took care of his friends and wanted his friends to be happy. So it's only right that we, you know, try and start to smile again and laugh again. It's something that he would have wanted."

"Personal note, he will be severely missed, but I'm just so happy that a guy like him got to touch as many lives as he did while we were lucky enough to have him," he added.

The cast has already prepared for the upcoming season. Michele tweeted, "First day of glee today..And at my first wardrobe fitting for Rachel Berry for Season Five! I've missed her so much."
