Bret Michaels, 50, has had an accident while en route from Abilene, Texas to Biloxi, Mississippi for his next tour stop as his tour bus hit a group of deer. The Poison rocker and his driver, who is also his security head, fortunately suffered only bruises and minor cuts in the crash, but the deer were not so lucky.
"Except for some bumps and bruises I am thankful there were no serious injuries," he says in a statement to Celebuzz. "It is unfortunate for the deer, but thankfully due to modern RV technology and a steel firewall we are all okay. I have every intention to make tonight's show in Biloxi and the tour will continue."
Michaels has his share of near-death experiences. Before the tour bus accident, the "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" hitmaker suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage in April 2010. He also was once hospitalized with appendicitis and once suffered a stroke due to a hole in his heart.
His tour comes ahead of his new album "Jammin' with Friends" which is scheduled to be released in the United States on June 25.
