Bowersox and her husband Brian Walker split after two and a half years of marriage, but the couple promises to keep supporting each other in careers and personal lives.

Crystal Bowersox, the runner up of "American Idol" season 9, has announced her split from husband Brian Walker. Bowersox and Walker told PEOPLE in a statement, "After two and a half years, we have decided to end our marriage."
"The friendship and love which brought us together remains strong, and we will continue to support each other in our careers and personal lives. We are hopeful that people will be respectful of our privacy as we face this emotional and challenging time for our family," the statement read.
Bowersox and Walker do not have children together. However, Bowersox has a son from her previous relationship which ended when she was on the FOX singing competition series. "It was a mutual thing. We're both logical adults. He's a small-town guy - that's fine. I'm a small-town girl, but I want this more than anything. I want this career, this lifestyle, and I didn't think he was up for it. And he didn't think he was up for it," she explained at that time.
The "Dead Weight" singer and Walker later got married in Chicago in 2010 after a brief engagement. The wedding was held in a club where they met for the first time six years before the wedding date. The ceremony was attended by 60 close friends and family members, including fellow "Idol" contestant Didi Benami. Bowersox's son from her previous relationship, Tony, acted as the ring bearer. The singer tweeted excitedly after tying the knot, "Officially mamasox!!! I mean walkersox!!! Hahaha that's hilarious. :)."
