The actor who plays the title character spills that he has signed up for a fourth season of the BBC drama series.

AceShowbiz - "Sherlock" will return for at least two more seasons, according to Benedict Cumberbatch. The British actor, who plays the titular detective on the hit BBC series, revealed during a recent interview that season 4 had been greenlit in addition to season 3, which will start the production Monday, March 18.
"We've agreed to two more series [British term for season] but I could get into trouble for saying that," he told RadioTimes. "All I know at the moment is I'm doing these three [episodes for season 3] and another three [episodes for season 4]."
Moreover, Cumberbatch hopes that the show continues beyond that. "It just depends on Martin [Freeman] and I's availability, how long we can keep it going. It depends on Steven [Moffat]'s ability," the "Star Trek Into Darkness" star said when asked if there could be more "Sherlock" after season 4. "I'd love to keep it going."
The third season of "Sherlock" is expected to air next fall or winter on BBC One in the U.K. and will air later Stateside on PBS.
