The 'Proud Mary' singer is rumored going to make Switzerland her permanent home after living in the country for more than a decade.

Tina Turner is reportedly considering to be permanently settling in Switzerland. According to Zuerichsee-Zeitung newspaper, the 73-year-old American icon who was born in Nutbush, Tenn. has been granted a Swiss citizenship after living in the Zurich suburb of Kuesnacht since the mid-1990s.
Her rep said the singer wanted to "clarify her situation." The "Proud Mary" hitmaker will renounce her U.S. citizenship to become a full-pledged citizen of Switzerland. "I am very happy in Switzerland and I feel at home here. I could not imagine a better place to live," she told German newspaper Blick.
Born Anna Mae Bullock, Turner rose to stardom as a member of Ike and Tina Turner. After a tumultuous and violent relationship with Ike, she went solo and launched a successful career. Hit singles during her career in music included "River Deep - Mountain High".
Turner moved to Zurich more than a decade ago with her longtime partner, German music manager Erwin Bach. They live in a lake house called Chateau Algonquin. Her Swiss citizenship hasn't been made official since it still needs a formal approval from state and federal authorities.
