The indie rock band start the impending busy year with a bang that might see them releasing a new album in four years.

Indie rock band Yeah Yeah Yeahs performed material from their upcoming studio effort in front of a wildly-cheering crowd at the 800-seater Glass House. Vocalist and pianist Karen O, guitarist and keyboardist Nick Zinner and drummer Brian Chase played their new songs in the 70-minute Pomona, California show, a warm-up gig to their upcoming Australian tour.
Frontwoman Karen O, wearing a zebra-print cape over a red, fringed jacket, kicked off the night with "Mosquito" which she opened with "I'll suck your blood!". The band followed it up with "Phenomena" and then another new song, before they played their "It's Blitz!" tracks, "Heads Will Roll", "Skeletons" and "Zero", as well as 6 other songs composed of 5 previous hits and another unreleased new song.
"Thank you Pomona, we're the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. You know that. We love you," Karen O blurted out before leaving the stage at the end of the band's 12-track set. Shortly after that, the three returned onstage to play a two-song encore of "Maps" and "Tick", which they dedicated to the night's front act, the L.A. punk duo The Bots.
The songs are all featured in the trio's new album after four years, during which Karen O became busy with the soundtrack of the 2009 fantasy drama film "Where the Wild Things Are", collaborated with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross in a version Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" for "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)", and sang on David Lynch's "Crazy Clown Time" album.
