Instead of waiting until the Tuesday elimination show, Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera will cut one of their remaining four proteges each at the end of the Monday show.

AceShowbiz - "The Voice" season 2 is entering its quarterfinal rounds with a twist. It has just been announced that starting Monday, April 16, there will be an instant elimination at the end of the performance show.

Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera will be the first coaches who have to cut one of their remaining proteges each in the next episode of the singing competition. On Tuesday, April 17, each of them will send home another contestant to get their top 2 singers.

The same rule applies to Adam Levine and Cee-Lo Green who will have their proteges performing the next week. The contestants surviving this rounds will then advance to the semifinals.

In addition to the instant elimination, the upcoming Monday episode of "The Voice" will feature Adam and his band Maroon 5 performing "Pay Phone" to cater the audience. Blake and Christina, meanwhile, will team up with their respective teams on the stage.
