Russell Brand has secured a lead role in an upcoming Michael Bay-produced fantasy movie called "The Hauntrepreneur". According to Variety, the "Arthur" actor is set to play the titular character that is described as an eccentric man.

Hauntrepreneur is hired by a family, who has trouble adjusting a life in a new town. In an attempt to bring the family together, the peculiar man creates a haunted house which is filled with an odd cast of characters.

The "Transformers" helmer will co-produce the upcoming film along with Andrew Form and Brad Fuller through his Platinum Dunes shingle. The movie project is developed at Paramount Pictures, which has picked up the spec from "Kangaroo Jack" scribe Scott Rosenberg last October 2011. No director has been tapped to helm the project.

As for Brand, the 36-year-old actor will next be seen in "Rock of Ages", which also stars Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Alec Baldwin and Julianne Hough. He is also expected to start filming an untitled Diablo Cody project for Mandate Pictures.
