A new look at Katniss Everdeen, Haymitch Abernathy and Effie Trinket are featured in a fresh still from "The Hunger Games". Making its way out via Los Angeles Times, the brand new image sees the three key characters sitting on a couch at the Capitol while showing off a serious look in their faces.

Katniss is seen wearing black pants and flat shoes while sitting beside her drunkard mentor, Haymitch, who holds his drink while placing one of his legs on a table. Effie, meanwhile, looks eye-catching in a never-before-seen green costume. The three seem to be watching what could be a footage from a previous Hunger Games.

In "The Hunger Games", Katniss replaces her little sister Prim in a fight-to-the-death annual event sponsored by the Panem government. Pitted against highly-trained competitors who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch to survive in the game.

Gary Ross works behind the lens with Billy Ray providing the script. Jennifer Lawrence, Woody Harrelson and Elizabeth Banks play Katniss, Haymitch and Effie respectively. Also joining the highly anticipated novel-adapted movie are Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, Lenny Kravitz as Cinna, and Willow Shields as Prim Everdeen.

"The Hunger Games" has been scheduled to open wide in the U.S. on March 23, while its follow-up "Catching Fire" will arrive in theaters nationwide on November 22, 2013.
