Adam Sandler apparently offered to swap wives with Tom Cruise before he and Katie Holmes started filming "Jack and Jill". The 45-year-old comedian made the revelation when he stopped by the "Late Show With David Letterman" on Wednesday, November 9 to promote the comedy movie.
During the interview, the "Zookeeper" actor revealed that Tom told him when they had dinner together, "This is weird that my wife is going to be your wife in the movie, it's very weird, it's bizarre." In response, he assured the "Mission: Impossible" star, "It's a PG movie, no worries, nothing is going to happen."
Adam went on to share that he even told the 49-year-old, "In fact, anything I do with your wife in the movie, you can do with my wife in real life." He then joked with host David Letterman, "So every morning I'd go to the set and I'd hear my wife go, 'Please do a love scene. Please slowly take your shirt off in that scene and rub her ever so tenderly.' "
In "Jack and Jill", Adam plays a successful advertising executive in Los Angeles whose tranquil life is turned upside down by his identical twin sister. Tom's wife, Katie, takes the role of his on-screen wife, Erin. The comedy movie itself is directed by Dennis Dugan and will be released in U.S. theaters on Friday, November 11.
