The 'Ringer' star reveals that she is going to guest star on the soap opera, but she will not reprise her role as Kendall.

AceShowbiz - Already set to make a TV comeback with "Ringer", Sarah Michelle Gellar will also return to her alma soap opera "All My Children". Announcing the news was the actress herself who said at the TCA on Thursday, August 4, "I can today officially confirm that I will be doing a guest-spot."

"When I heard the show was canceled, I didn't understand. It just doesn't make sense to me," the former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" beauty went on sharing. "I called [the casting director] and said, 'I want to do something'."

Unlike Josh Duhamel who takes on his long presumed dead character Leo du Pres for his recent return, Gellar said she will not reprise her original role of Kendall Hart, which is now portrayed by Alicia Minshew. She added, "I have no idea what I'm going to be doing... I will be doing one day. I'm excited."

It is still unclear in which episode Gellar will be featured. The long-running daytime series itself will end its run on ABC on September 23. As of late, it was reported that the show may return to TV via cable network since Prospect Park, the company that licensed the soaps from ABC, is meeting with some cable networks.
