His wife said that the Grammy winning singer would like his fans to understand his condition when he starts to flub the lyrics to his songs.

Knowing that his stage presence won't be long, Glen Campbell announced that he is planning a series of goodbye concerts this summer for his fans. The Grammy winning musician has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and he wants his devotees to be aware of his condition.
"Glen is still an awesome guitar player and singer," said his wife Kim in an interview with People. "But if he flubs a lyric or gets confused on stage, I wouldn't want people to think, 'What's the matter with him? Is he drunk?' "
Campbell, who turned 75 in April, has been suffering short-term memory loss in recent years and he finally found out about the disease six months ago. "I still love making music," he said. "And I still love performing for my fans. I'd like to thank them for sticking with me through thick and thin."
Campbell made a history in 1976 by winning four Grammys for "Gentle on My Mind" and "By the Time I Get to Phoenix". His new song, called "A Better Place", is personal to him for the lyrics which include "I need the ones I love Lord/More and more each day" relate to his diagnosis.
