Words on the street are, there is a plan that a new leading actress will replace Christopher Meloni who recently quit the show.

AceShowbiz - "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" may recruit an actress to fill the place left by Christopher Meloni. Report says there is a scenario where the new lead would be female who works alongside Mariska Hargitay's Detective Olivia Benson.

While NBC has not found Meloni's replacement, it has at least locked Ice-T for 2 more years. The rapper-turned-actor recently announced he has signed a new deal to return as Detective Odafin "Fin" Tutuola. "I've just locked in my new SVU deal," he tweeted on Friday, June 10. "So I'll officially be back for the next 2 years at least. DONE."

Regarding Jennifer Love Hewitt who would join the drama series midway through the coming season when Hargitay scales back her duties, Deadline reports it is not happening. Ice-T also received similar questions from his Twitter followers which he replied with, "At this moment no one else is locked as new members of the show."
